The Giants Keep Hurting Their Backs Because Of Their Dorm Beds At Training Camp

At least five New York Giants have dealt with back problems during training camp. They think it’s because of the tiny, rock-hard beds they’re sleeping in at the University of Albany.

“I mean, everybody has been complaining about their back because the beds in the dorm are fairly hard. My back be hurting too. I think it is just the bed.”

Tight end Martellus Bennett said his back is fine but admitted the beds on campus are a bit tiny.

“We are big humans,” Bennett said. “Every bed is small. You can’t put a damn dinosaur in a twin-sized bed … all the beds, unless you got a California king, the beds are going to be small to these guys. If a normal-sized human jumps into a regular-sized bed, it fits perfectly. A large big human jumps into a regular-sized bed, the bed is too small.”

Martellus’ ignorance to the wide spectrum of dinosaur sizes aside, they are “big humans.” And dorm beds are indeed small and hard.

The Giants aren’t the only team practicing at a college, but perhaps other teams have done something about the bed situation at other schools. Or maybe Albany’s beds are extra hard, or something.

The dorm room beds may not have anything to do with some of these injuries. But one thing is certain, several of these players were sleeping in beds meant for college students.

I suppose this means only some of the players have shitty beds? Clearly, no player should have to sleep in the standard Twin XL, rock-hard beds of college dorms. The beds can barely hold a normal-sized sophomore after his Freshman 15. These guys are normal-sized sophomores after a Freshman 215.

The bed thing may or may not have anything to do with this, but the injuries are a serious concern for the returning Super Bowl champs.

Lots of people have been napping on the Giants, and this news might make the team lay down and give up. Or it could be the alarm this team needs to wake up a bunch of sleeping Giants. Here’s hoping they put these injuries to bed and get back to the big game, hitting snooze on a Super Bowl hangover!
