The Philadelphia Eagles Show How To Do Everything Wrong In One Foul Swoop

The Philadelphia Eagles were on the 1-yard line with six seconds left in the half. Down 17-0 to the Arizona Cardinals, they had a big decision to make.

Do you play it safe and just kick the field goal on third down?

Do you try for a quick shot at the end zone first?

The Eagles went for option C: let Michael Vick get blindsided, fumble the ball, and allow the Cardinals return it 93-yards for a touchdown.

Fumble Return

The touchdown turned a salvageable 17-3 deficit for Philadelphia into a 24-0 blowout in the making for Arizona. It doesn’t get much worse than that if you’re the Eagles.
