Former WVU Head Coach Stewart Dies
Tony Romo Struggled At QB During A Beach Football Game And Had To Be Pulled
A group of current and former Dallas Cowboys made up of Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Bobby Carpenter, and Troy Aikman played a game of beach football over the weekend. Saints coach Sean Payton was also there, since he has a vacation home near the WaterColor, Florida beach where the game was played.
Questions have arisen over whether or not this little sand-frolicking friendly violated league lockout rules, since Romo, Witten, and Carpenter are active players and Payton is a coach. But that’s not the real news here.
No, the most important info from this NOLA.com piece is that Sean Payton had to replace Tony Romo at quarterback.
“I played a little safety, a little wide receiver and Romo was struggling at quarterback so I went in and threw him a touchdown pass,’’ Payton said.
It was all in good fun, of course, but this should still provide a nice little 4th of July bonus to the legions of America’s-team-hating Americans currently celebrating America.
