Too Bad Knowshon Moreno’s License Plate Didn’t Read: “HEALTHY”

It feels a little strange poking fun at Knowshon Moreno, especially since he was arrested early last week for a DUI, but this is pretty ridiculous.

Sure, there’s nothing funny about drinking and driving, but when you consider that the Denver Broncos running back has a vanity plate on his Bentley — yes, his Bentley — that reads “SAUCED,” you can’t help but snicker just a little. Um, seriously.

We laugh, of course, with the knowledge that no one was hurt in this particular incident. Yes, there is nothing funny about drinking and driving. But… “SAUCED”? Really?

According to the police report, Moreno was pulled over for driving 70 miles per hour in a construction zone where the speed limit was 45 MPH. Moreno was given a sobriety test, and when he failed he was taken to a detox facility.

The Broncos actually released a statement on the incident, saying that they are “gathering information” and will continue to “monitor the situation.” That seems fair.

Moreno, who’s missed 12 games over the last two seasons, has had a tough time staying healthy, obviously, and will return to the football field next season coming off an ACL surgery. He’s also have to contend with Pro Bowler Willis McGahee for touches, so it’s probably safe to say that the next 6-8 months are going to long and grueling.
