Vince Young’s Strip Club Fight Started Because Somebody Dissed His Alma Mater

According to CBS 11 in Dallas, Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young will only be issued a Class C assault citation for a fight in a strip club parking lot. The citation is punishable by a fine of up to $500, a result that’s obviously much more attractive than jail.

If you read any articles about Young’s situation earlier today (when our friends at Gossip Cop confirmed the story had legs), it didn’t look so hot (this is usually the case when the phrases “prime suspect” and “strip club assault” are used in the same sentence). But now that it looks like Vince won’t be arrested, and we get some new details about what actually happened, we can joke about it.

Which is a relief, because a strip club fight that you can’t make jokes about is a strip club fight that we don’t even want to know about.

According to CBS 11, the bruhaha started because of this:

The video shows Young in a back office talking to a manager. Another man in the office makes a derogatory “Horns down” hand sign in reference to the University of Texas, Young’s alma mater, and says something to the quarterback.

Young is then seen talking to the manager for a few more moments before charging after the man who made the hand signal. A fight involving multiple people then breaks out.

For those unfamiliar, the “horns down” is a disrespectful alteration to the famous “hook em’ horns” hand gesture, popularized by the University of Texas’ rabid fanbase. UT is where Vince Young went to school.

So, in summation, what the gentleman was communicating to Mr. Young was: “I do not care much for your alma mater sir, ” to which Vince responded with fisticuffs.

And that’s how everyone’s evening at the cabaret was ruined.
