Was Skip Bayless Censored By ESPN Before Talking About Tim Tebow’s “Religious Persecution?”

Here’a clip of ESPN’s First Take that aired yesterday, in which Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless were set to “discuss” (read: scream like morons) Tim Tebow’s latest GQ Magazine cover, in which he’s posing like a crucified Jesus. It appears Skip is about to launch into one of his impassioned and impervious rants when the television feed abruptly cuts to commercial. (Go to :58).

When the ESPN feed cuts back in, Bayless is still speaking. That leads us to believe it was simply a production mistake. BUT THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN (Go to 2:30). Another mid-speech commercial cut. Stephen A. Smith does get his two cents in, though, so whether or not ESPN is trying to avoid touchy statements on religion is up for debate. In any case, the whole situation is quite odd.

Or maybe, for once, they just wanted Skip Bayless to shut his mouth for the good of the country.

At least the second cut-in had to be on the part of the local cable company where the uploader was watching ESPN. Note the spot for a WWE PPV in the second break – right after an ad for a catheter manufacturer. That’s a scary thought: Skip Bayless being cut off with a catheter.

It looks like nothing more than a local automated commercial system having problems. It happens all the time.
