Found Among Calgary Flames Flood Debris: The Gruesome Head Of Harvey The Hound

  • Rick Chandler

CSI: Calgary. As we wrote on Sunday, the Calgary Flames’ home arena, Scotiabank Saddledome, was submerged eight rows deep on Sunday during flooding in Alberta, Canada, that forced the evacuation of 100,000 people. As workers were pumping out 300,000 gallons of water, a gruesome discovery was made.

The head of the Flames’ mascot, Harvey the Hound.

The mascot is famous in Edmonton because he once so pestered Oilers coach Craig MacTavish that MacT pulled his tongue off.

According to Wikipedia, Harvey was the NHL’s first costumed mascot, first appearing in 1983. It’s rumored that there is another Harvey head, however. But the body? The investigation continues.
