The Looming NHL Lockout, Explained In Cartoon Form By One Angry Fan

A few weeks back, we mentioned how the NHL was barreling toward a second lockout in eight years. Well, here were are, mere days from the league’s CBA expiring, and a work stoppage looks no less likely. While the league’s position, at least on the face of it, has softened some from its initial middle finger of an “offer” to the players, the sides are nowhere near an agreement, and as of today, the likely result is missed hockey.
As one might expect, fans are not happy about this. And one cut through all the money issues at play to remind everybody that the ones who really get screwed during lockouts aren’t the players, and definitely not the owners:
Hard to blame hockey fans for being especially pessimistic about what’s going on here, considering the last time the league had one of these, it canceled an entire season. Now, less than a decade later, we might be looking at a similar situation, not to mention the third major sport to lock out its players in the last two years. If not every fan can summon the same level of outrage as the one who made the video above, the cause might simply be lockout fatigue.
