New Carolina Hurricane Jordan Staal Was Traded To His Brother’s Team… During His Own Wedding

Jordan Staal is the newest member of the Carolina Hurricanes, where he’ll get a chance to play alongside brother Eric. When Jordan found out he would be playing with his older sibling, however, makes the story much cooler.
The 23-year-old forward was tying the knot with his wife Heather when Pittsburgh shipped the center to Carolina. We’re assuming Eric was at the wedding, which really made it a marriage in more ways than one.
What’s even better is there are four Staal brothers. While Marc plays for the Rangers, the youngest brother, Jared, plays for Carolina’s AHL affiliate. So, if he stays the course, we could have a trio of brothers on the same team.
And apparently this wasn’t the first odd occurrence involving a Staal wedding. In 2007, when Eric was getting married, he and Jordan were arrested during a a bachelor party that got out of hand. The two were arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process. Jordan also was drinking underage—he was 18 at the time of the festivities. (Marc, who was 20, and Jared, who was 16, were not part of the bachelor party.) But it appears if there’s a wedding, and Jordan and Eric Staal are involved, there’s bound to be something interesting happening.
P.S. If you’re having trouble keeping up with all the different Staals, worry not: so are we.
