After being in the squat for 17 innings, chances are Buster Posey had no feeling below his waist. But it didn’t matter — his walkoff homer in the bottom of the 17th gave the Giants a 3-2 win over the Reds. It was the longest Giants game since 2001, a loss to the Mets.

The much-maligned Giants bullpen threw nine consecutive shutout innings.
Buster Posey's home run was the first in the 17th inning or later by a Giant since Jim Davenport hit one on May 13, 1966.

The AT&T Park seagulls were just about to call in reinforcements when the game finally ended. The birds are accustomed to nine-inning affairs, at which time they swoop in and clean up. They were not happy to be delayed an extra two hours.
