Bill Walton is my spirit animal, and I know I’m not alone. That’s why I was pretty excited when ESPN told us that he’d be calling an NBA game tonight along with Dick Vitale and usual straight-man foil Dave Pasch.
It was Pacers-Cavaliers, the first time Walton would call a game involving LeBron James since LeBron was in high school. And it turned out to be the perfect way to spend the final evening before the All-Star break — with the highlight being when Walton called his ESPN producer “Dr. slave driver” while mentioning he needed a bathroom break just before halftime.
Pasch responded by telling Walton to “stop talking”, and then Walton’s mic was cut off.
The mic was eventually restored, and more fun ensued.
Bill Walton doing a drive by on Draymond while talking about a Bob Dylan show he didn't go to is the announcing highlight of the season.

Tremendous sequence here from Bill Walton, who scolds Dave Pasch for mentioning shooting percentages. pic.twitter.com/HyloCaRFm4

Highlight No. 2 had to be when Walton ripped Carmello Anthony. “I don’t care where he goes, as long as it’s not to one of the teams I like.” Ha.
