A Lot Of Sports Media Went To Northwestern & They’ve Taken Over Twitter

Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism has produced a lot of successful members of the media community, specifically a very loud and proud chunk of today’s sports media.

Despite being a longtime participant in Division I athletics, this is the school’s first ever tournament bid after 78 years of falling short. Northwestern has been on the precipice of joining the college basketball elite for a while, and so their sports media graduates are ecstatic to finally be a part of one of the funnest sports traditions of the year.

How do I know?

Because they have completely taken over my Twitter timeline. As a member of sports media myself, I mostly follow sports reporters and personalities. So as Northwestern’s game on Thursday approached, my timeline was flooded by ESPN employees decked in bright purple to cheer on their Wildcats.

(To be fair, J.A. Adande is the Director of Sports Journalism at the Medill School.)
