Kid Wins Year Of Free Pizza By Making Half-Court Shot, Becomes Most Popular Kid At School

  • Brad Cohen

When 11-year-old Cody Collins drained a half-court shot at last night’s Kennesaw State game, he was justifiably psyched—he had just earned all kinds of playground cred.

After the ball went through the hoop Collins and his friend under the basket ran around the court in jubilation (seriously, a year of free pizza!). The few people in the crowd got insanely excited (like, to a surprising extent)—probably because they knew that had he been anyone other than an 11-year-old, the shooter might have been a little disappointed that his feat earned him nothing but a few mediocre pies from Papa John’s instead of, say, a large sum of money.

But as The Dagger said, Collins is 11, and to him all those pizzas are as good as a duffel bag full of cold, hard currency. What would he do with the cash anyway? Probably buy pizza.

You’ve got to feel for the parents, though, because we all know where the whole neighborhood is going to be hanging out after school.
