Almost immediately after the New England Patriots had completed their monumental comeback to win Super Bowl LI, Shields MRI debuted the commercial that everyone’s been buzzing about. In it, Brady whips out a fifth championship ring and not-so-slyly quips “Roger That.”
The five-time Super Bowl champion quarterback actually filmed the ad during his four-game suspension at the beginning of the season; far before the Patriots had even sniffed the postseason.
Obviously the well-executed jab has had even non-New Englanders chuckling at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s expense, and the team shows no signs of backing off. Yesterday defensive coordinator Matt Patricia deplaned wearing a Goodell clown shirt that’s hawked by Barstool Sports, and today Brady debuted a new shirt that is bound to sell out in no time:

The shirt reads “Roger That” with a “5x Champs” banner underneath, and pictures two fists: one adorned with four rings and the other wearing the fifth on the middle finger.
Here’s a closer look at the design:

The best part about all of this is that there is absolutely nothing that Goodell can do about it. After court battles, historic fines, docked draft picks and unreasonable suspensions – none of which prevented the Patriots from winning the Super Bowl – he’s left with no leverage.
Goodell is the butt of the NFL’s biggest joke, and now all he can do is hide out and hope the storm passes quickly.
