Tre Boston Said He Signed With Chargers Due To Encounter With Jesus At Gas Station

Tre Boston, a talented safety whose short career so far has been jostled by injuries, was waived by the Carolina Panthers on May 2 and was just signed by the Los Angeles Chargers. Boston had the opportunity to latch on with the Buffalo Bills as well, but chose the Chargers because, as he tells it, he had an encounter with Jesus at a gas station.

That’s what he told ESPN, anyway. Boston said that he had an encounter with a stranger who was asking for money, and things just unfolded from there. Boston gave the man $20, and then:

“So he tells me thank you so much, and that God put me in his life for a reason. And in my mind I’m saying you’re here for a reason, too. So in my mind I’m saying should I ask him, ‘L.A. or Buffalo.’ And before I could ask him, my man told me, ‘Thank you so much. There aren’t too many people like you in this world, God’s children. My name’s Mike Daniels, but people call me L.A.'”

Boston added he began to cry when he suddenly saw what appeared to be Jesus on an advertisement stand.

He took a closer look and noticed it was a card that said “Jesus saves.”

“God told me to come here, and that’s my testimony,” Boston said. “And that’s why I’m here.”

When the choices are Los Angeles or Buffalo, to me it doesn’t really matter what the question is. I frankly don’t need The Son of God to tell me to pick LA. But you may be different and if so, more power to you.

If the Chargers were making a higher offer than the Bills, then I guess Jesus really does save.
