NHL Player’s First Goal Moves Grandfather to Tears

This is one of those heartwarming moments only sports can produce.

Tyson Yost of the Colorado Avalanche scored his first NHL goal Wednesday night, and naturally he was ecstatic. But there was one person in the stands who was even more excited.

That person was Yost’s grandfather, who was brought to tears by Tyson’s first career goal.

Obviously there is a strong, emotional connection between Tyson and his grandfather. Just how strong is it? Tyson answered that:

If Tyson can keep producing like this with his grandfather in the stands, the Avalanche may have to reconsider making Grandpa Yost the team mascot. Congrats to the grandfather-grandson duo!
