When Allegedly Driving Your Maserati 130 MPH To Avoid The Police That Are Chasing You Goes Wrong

My Maserati does [130]
I lost my license, now I don’t… eh, got nothing on a decent replacement rhyme there

It’s not quite 185, but driving 130 in your Maserati is still really, really (dangerously, stupidly) fast. And when it’s done to avoid police trying to chase you down, as, according to UK publication The Sun, it was in the case of Arsenal defender Andre Santos, it’s an especially bad idea (indeed, one that will inevitably lead to your arrest). AFP has a story on the incident too, and while they don’t specify a speed at which Santos was traveling, it doesn’t make it sound any less like a very bad idea on Santos’ part:

Arsenal defender Andre Santos was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a car chase the day before the club’s first Premier League game of the season, police said.

The Brazil international left-back, 29, was detained near the north London club’s training ground in the county of Hertfordshire, north of the British capital, last Friday morning.

That has to make it feel all the worse for Santos, that he was finally detained so close to actual Arsenal property. Sort of like getting pulled over a block from your house. But if you deserve it, it’s hard to complain, and if Santos was really “[driving] erratically and failed to stop,” as police indicated, then he deserved it. Oh, and this incident went down the day before Arsenal’s first match of the year, which ended in a 0-0 draw with Sunderland. Santos didn’t play.

I can’t complain [especially when I dangerously drive a sports car to avoid police] but sometimes I still do.
Life’s been good to me so far [except since Friday]
