Hope Solo Made An Amazing Save Off A Deflected Shot Against Canada
Hope Solo might still be pining for the right lover, but that isn’t stopping her from doing Hope Solo things on the soccer field. Considered the best goalie in the world, Solo proved it against Canada yesterday when a low shot from Canadian Christine Sinclair was headed to Solo’s right.
Except the shot redirected off of an American defender and veered to Solo’s left. So she stopped on a dime, nearly losing her balance, and made a diving save to barely stop the ball from crossing the end line. Even more remarkably, she was able to corral the ball just before one of Canada’s players could knock the rebound in.
The save preserved the United States’ 1-0 lead and eventual 2-1 victory.
