What Do You Do When An Adorable 11-Year-Old Girl Sings The National Anthem… And This Happens?

So the Internet has been buzzing about the 11-year-old girl who sang the national anthem Saturday before the Los Angeles Galaxy and FC Dallas match. In short, she got… some mixed reviews.

First of all, this girl has some major cojones singing the national anthem at an MLS game. I don’t care if the MLS is like the fifth-best league in our country, it still sells out a ton of games, and this game had 22,565 fans in attendance. So if she was nervous, I can’t blame her, but I sure as hell give her some credit.

Now, her performance was God-awful. No way to sugarcoat it. The applause at the end was a mixture of “Hey, she’s cute,” and “Thank goodness it’s over.” Think that’s just about all the crowd could do. I mean, you can’t boo an 11-year-old, right? That’s just not patriotic.

It’s okay though, she is only 11, so she’s got plenty of time to improve her singing abilities, or decide that she’s destined for something else.

Apparently, she is a student of the “diva” school of thought where the more notes you insert, the better the performance. She really wasn’t that bad. Have you ever tried singing out into empty space without any accompaniment? When you can’t hear yourself, it is very difficult to sing.

You people are all terrible. A 11 yr old unprofessional is off tone a little, but says all the correct words, criticized like this….you all should be ashamed. What are kids names and I will critize them for how they tie their shoes
