Watch An MLS Goalie Score A Goal From 90 Yards Out
There’s nothing all that extraordinary about a soccer player scoring a goal in his professional debut. That is, unless that player happens to be a goalkeeper.
That’s exactly what San Jose Earthquakes goalie David Bingham did yesterday, when after grabbing ahold of an errant pass from his West Bromwich opponent, he attempted to punt the ball towards teammate forward Scott Sealy, only to overshoot his target.
Distraught, Bingham turned his head away, only to miss his first professional goal, as the off-target punt bounced over the head of West Bromwich goalie Boaz Myhill‘s head, and into the net. Oh, how we love those surprising bounces.
