After a thrilling Alex Morgan goal downed Canada in the closing moments of the United States’ semifinal match, the Americans look to defeat Japan in a rematch of the 2011 World Cup. The U.S. lost that match on penalties, and has gone 1-1-1 against Japan since then. In the two teams’ last meeting, an exhibition in Sweden seven weeks ago, America prevailed in a 4-1 victory.

So head on over to NBC’s Olympics site, and watch USA vs. Japan live. Enter your cable provider info (or you email address for trial access), and you’re good to go.

This is real stupid. NBC is supposed to be public broadcasting. One shouldn’t need to have a paid service to watch. This is extra stupid because Bob Costa advertised last night that this game will be live on TV at 2:45pm. Now they are showing polos instead. And you have to have paid cable to watch it online.

NBC you are a terrible network. Soccer is the most populaer sport in the world and we are whating water polo. This sucks. We were told the gold round would be on at 2:45 now you want is to watch it on compouter. Most of us do not have that fast a hookup/ NBU first you are for Obama and now you have done a terrible job with the olympics. God I hope next time they chopose another network.

I wanted to watch the soccer final, too. I have NBC through AT&T and tried over and over again to sign in and stream after I downloaded the APP, because I am away from home. But nothing worked. So I finally went to a friend’s house here on Cape Cod ( I live in Atlanta) and was further frustrated when I found no soccer but water polo, after hearing the game would be on at 2:45.
Oh NBC, I will not soon forget this.

Rip off report: First half hand ball in the box, no call. Second half penalty in the box, holding and pulling down the player during a direct header to the goal, no call. Results: America ousts Japan in woman’s olympic soccer 2-1 this afternoon. Poor effort on behalf of the refs. Pathetic. The proud? I guess so. But we know who played the better game. Hats off, but unfortunately, that’s life. Tactics.
