Russian Pole Vaulter Condemns Homosexuals And Their Supporters, Says Russians Are ‘Normal’ People

yelena isinbayevaWhen it comes to Russia’s anti-gay “propaganda” law, we’ve heard from Russian officials. We’ve heard from the International Olympic Committee. We’ve heard from NBC. We’ve heard from American and even Swedish athletes. How about Russian athletes? What do they think about the upcoming standoff between homosexual Olympians and Vladimir Putin?

Cue pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, who captured her third world title on Tuesday and was asked for her thoughts on the matter. From ABC:

“If we allow to promote and do all this stuff on the street, we are very afraid about our nation because we consider ourselves like normal, standard people,” Isinbayeva, a two-time Olympic champion, said in English. “We just live with boys with woman, woman with boys.

“Everything must be fine. It comes from history. We never had any problems, these problems in Russia, and we don’t want to have any in the future.”

Oh jeez. Now, Isinbayeva doesn’t represent every Russian athlete, or even every Russian, but she’s a world-class pole vaulter and is very popular, so she’s clearly not alone. It looks like the ideological divide on this issue is enormous. Calling straight people “normal, standard”? This is a case of willful ignorance more than anything. There are 143 million different people in your country, Yelena — there is no such thing as “standard.”

Side note: The IAAF, the sport’s governing body, said that “free expression as a basic human right, which means we must respect the opinions of both Green Tregaro and Isinbayeva.”

No, IAAF. Isinbayeva’s “opinion” on this matter is that homosexuals are not normal people. That’s called intolerance. And there’s no reason to be tolerant of intolerance. Didn’t we go over this already?

You’re being intolorant toward a straight persons views on an apparent big issue. Eric: The pot calling the kettle black.

Also, you revealed yourself as being petty ignorant and intolerable in your Chris Brousarrd article, thank you for linking to it so that I could remember how stupid you made yourself look… And the awesome comments.

  • Eric Goldschein

Well, you’re still here Bon, so I must be doing something right. Glad to see you, thanks for commenting.

  • recarter

Thank God, at least star athletes are still allowed to speak freely in Russia. In the U.S., the 98%, the normal people, have been effectively muzzled by the 2% that are sexual deviants.

  • Jonah

Thanks goodness for people like you, Bon, who can differentiate between a bigot and an advocate for victims of bigotry. Without you the world would surely be a more intolerant place.

    JK. Ya dumb, son.

  • excessivejay

…and most of those 98% of “normal” people accept homosexuals and don’t give a crap what they do in their personal time! Your point of view is now the minority.

  • recarter

Yes, as you correctly alluded, opinions do change with time. Over the years, we have seen opinions change in Germany, Russia, Iran, China, Japan–all across the globe, and not always for the better. But one thing that hasn’t changed is the Word of God, which remains relevant to public discourse and, I would venture to say, counts at least as much as your opinion.

  • GodEatsHotDogs

How about Fuck the word of God and your bullshit unproven bullshit that oppresses people.

  • GreatLogicThereSon

Already went over this Bon. Just because you have a view that is based in INTOLERANCE does not mean that other people have to tolerant to it.

Bon: The dumb bigot on the internet who is probably a grade A 400 pound whale sitting behind his computer screen, commenting time after time after time on articles he apparently doesn’t like. Stay stupid, Bon, I almost enjoy watching you squirm with all the gayness in your sports, life, and politics. It’s only going to get worse for you.

Yeah, the US is like living in Stalinist Russia. Only approved politics allowed.

  • Anonymous

Yeah, nations where people “don’t care” don’t last long – as we see our nations crumbling.

  • Anonymous

    Anti-semite! LOL!

  • Anonymous

LOL! Typical “culture of critique” mindset. Cultural marxism. Very telling.

So, will you be tolerating “Straight Pride”?

  • Anonymous

One picture of Detroit would counter that. What point are you trying to make.

This agenda is getting old and very transparent.

  • Boobylove

“…at least star athletes are still allowed to speak freely in Russia.”

Did you miss the part about homosexuals not being allowed to speak freely, and everyone else’s rights remaining completely untouched?

  • Truth Speaker

The U.S. has plenty of things wrong these days. Private health insurance is a scam, as is any private insurance for that matter, totally unregulated multi billion dollar dietary supplement industry, fiscally irresponsible economic policies, affirmative action-esque policies still to this day while we pretend minorities, and more specifically, blacks, actually contribute half as much as they take from society…These are all obvious shortcomings. Each generation has had its pros and cons in this country, however, giving gays equal rights is one of the best things this country, and frankly, the world, could do. There is no correlation with crime/mental ineptness/overall burdensome statistics with gay members of society like there is with black members of American society. This is not to say that all black Americans are worthless. A portion of black America is productive, albeit a much smaller portion per capita than the other ethnic groups, but for blacks to have equal rights while gays don’t is nonsense. Speaking anecdotally, while I’ve found many gays to be somewhat untrustworthy and generally self-serving, they do pay taxes, they do maintain their property, they do positively contribute economically, and they are overall productive members of American society. No reason for them not to have equal rights, as is the case for any LEGAL citizen of this country. The truth has been spoken. Take it for what it is, and believe what you gut tells you and what you’ve experience time and time again. Don’t believe skewed, agenda-driven statistics put out by both overly liberal and overly conservative media outlets.

  • Boobylove

Thanks for letting us know how little regard you have for blacks and gays as people. It really enhanced the conversation.

  • Boobylove

I think you’re misinterpreting what’s happening here. No one is making a veiled attempt to undermine white, Christian values. Or Capitalist values. They’re saying these things in an attempt to defend people (in this case, homosexuals) who are being treated poorly because of both who they are, and who they choose to be. CoC and cultural marxism play no part here.

And yes, people would probably poke fun at a “Straight Pride” movement. But no one in America would deny your right to be a part of it.

  • IdiotDaveHolden

Yeah Dave, I’ll certainly get right on supporting the Straight Pride event. Straight people have had it SO hard, the persecution is just amazing. These people, they have really had it hard. It must be so hard. :( These gay people, they have no reason for these pride events. Why would they feel the need to say who they are and be proud of it? It’s like, jeez gay people, you’ve had it SO easy. You have the best lives, everyone tolerates you.

Dave, you’re so fucking stupid. Shut your fucking mouth.

  • Jimbo

He has a point. I live in a community which is roughly 50% black. While I have some black acquaintances who are genuinely good people, the overwhelmingly majority of them are a drain on society. I wish this wasn’t the case but I’m not going to disregard what is right in front of me.

  • Stanley Spigot

She should manage Rick Santorum’s next campaign.

  • Anonymous

Maybe she just likes dick! After all she IS a pole vaulter…

  • nts of God

Mistreatment of a homosexual person is wrong because the mistreatment of any person is wrong. I can disagree with the lifestyle and still love the person and treat them with respect. You will never see or hear of me disrespecting a person who is homosexual but I will never tolerate their lifestyle. I just don’t believe it’s right….and that’s my right.

  • TonySteele

Why does a person need to talk about what’s going on in the bedroom to have “rights”? I don’t get it.

  • Roberto Bigelow

Ok, supporting Gay Marriage is saying you think it is logical, moral, and biological to pass feces through someone’s penis. There is no biologically safe way to have anal sex. God didn’t create you with a condom and for the atheists evolution didn’t have humans evolve with condoms.
So as weak failed American society cheers on the homosexualization of children and they are too weak willed to tell them their “born this way” crap is not biological. Natural (no condoms) Heterosexual sex with uninfected partners doesn’t get you sick. Natural (no condoms) Homosexual sex with uninfected partners will get you sick sooner or later. Duhh… you ain’t supposed to be in contact with feces…. You tell me you didn’t knooooow…..

  • Seahawk

    Go back to the eighties.

  • Nithin@Care2

call on olympics sponsors/athletes to stand up. That will make a real difference.

It makes me sick to see 2 men holding hands or kissing, and you freaks want this to be considered normal? I think not, let the gay bashing commence.
