There were many reasons the Knicks fell 105-100 to the Trail Blazers last night. Letting Portland shoot over 50 percent rom the field is right at the top of that list. Getting off to a terrible start is up there, too. So what or whom did the New York tabloids blame? You probably have a guess, and it’s probably right. See it for yourself after the jump.
Amar’e Stoudemire will play tonight against Portland. This is good news, presumably, some front-court depth for a team that has started Kurt Thomas – 40-year-old Kurt Thomas – at the power forward position at times. But it’s not good news too, and the news has been met with cautious trepidation on the part of Knicks fans. No one wants to mess with the current mojo, the winning, and so they’re left at an impasse.
Spike Lee is a few things. Movie director. World’s most transparent Knicks fan. Fashion connoisseur? Only select family members and his children attended, and Stoudemire plans on having a larger wedding party for friends and family sometime next year. But for now, let’s look at this lone wedding photo, yarmulke and tallit and all.
Welcome to “Pretty Much Screwed,” our 2012-13 guide to the upcoming NBA season, in which we identify the reasons why your favorite team might have to start looking forward to 2013-2014 — and highlight at least one reason for you to be hopeful. Today: the New York Knicks, who are unfortunately owned by James Dolan.
Two days, two sports crossovers for The Daily Show. Wednesday night’s edition dealt with replacement ref fallout, and last night Jon Stewart welcomed Amar’e Stoudemire to the program… and put him on the spot about the Heat.
While professional athletes are supposed to be in peak physical condition, preventing injuries and maximizing performance, we see a lot of bizarre injuries in their community. Some of them (like Tony Parker’s) are not always the fault of the athlete’s. But sometimes, athletes get injured in the downright dumbest, and funniest ways.
Note: Many professional athletes were hurt physically and emotionally in the making of this slideshow.
