There were many reasons the Knicks fell 105-100 to the Trail Blazers last night. Letting Portland shoot over 50 percent rom the field is right at the top of that list. Getting off to a terrible start is up there, too. So what or whom did the New York tabloids blame? You probably have a guess, and it’s probably right. See it for yourself after the jump.

Amar’e Stoudemire will play tonight against Portland. This is good news, presumably, some front-court depth for a team that has started Kurt Thomas – 40-year-old Kurt Thomas – at the power forward position at times. But it’s not good news too, and the news has been met with cautious trepidation on the part of Knicks fans. No one wants to mess with the current mojo, the winning, and so they’re left at an impasse.

Spike Lee is a few things. Movie director. World’s most transparent Knicks fan. Fashion connoisseur? Based on some of the outfits he styles at Madison Square Garden, including but not limited to the very one he wears in this video, maybe I’m taking his advice with a grain of salt if I’m Pablo Prigioni.

Notable Jew Amar’e Stoudemire got married on Tuesday in a tiny ceremony on his Manhattan apartment rooftop. Only select family members and his children attended, and Stoudemire plans on having a larger wedding party for friends and family sometime next year. This week, Amar’e Stoudemire’s rough offseason got rougher. And much like his now-infamous fire extinguisher injury, this one was completely his fault.

While professional athletes are supposed to be in peak physical condition, preventing injuries and maximizing performance, we see a lot of bizarre injuries in their community. Some of them (like Tony Parker’s) are not always the fault of the athlete’s. But sometimes, athletes get injured in the downright dumbest, and funniest ways.
