In what sounds like excruciating detail, ex-Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino told AD Jeff Long that his relationship with Jessica Dorrell started “with a kiss.” Besides saying “Uh, duh?” to Mr. Petrino, it looks like we’re going to have to ask him: don’t you watch Flight of the Conchords, dude? We still have a ways to go, but this is our current front-runner for “Most Inevitable Story of the Week”: Jessica Dorrell, the (engaged) woman with whom former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino cheated on his wife and inappropriately hired, has resigned.

Every detail that’s come out about the Bobby Petrino-Jessica Dorrell-Arkansas-motorcycle scandal has made the story sound worse and worse, and there might be no one it’s been tougher on than the man who was engaged to Dorrell, Josh Morgan.

According to a tweet from ESPN’s Joe Schad, Bobby Petrino is out as Arkansas’ football coach. The news will presumably be made official at a news conference later this evening. Wow.

Bobby Petrino’s on indefinite leave from Arkansas, and all that’s left to do now is wonder whether Arkansas will keep him around at all. Arkansas fans have their own opinions about that – and dome express it more forcefully than others.

Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino got in a motorcycle accident, and lied about the details – like that he was riding with a 25-year-old woman with whom he had an “inappropriate relationship.” This has Arkansas embarrassed – so embarrassed they could even fire him over it. They shouldn’t. Here’s why.

Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long appeared before the media just after 11 PM and announced that he has placed coach Bobby Petrino on paid administrative leave until a review is completed. Petrino was not at the news conference, but did issue a statement. More details after the jump.

Although Petrino claimed that he was alone at the time, the Arkansas head coach was riding with a female companion last Sunday. The companion was named in the official police report: she’s a 25-year-old former volleyball player and recent Arkansas hire. Oh boy. More details after the jump.

Bobby Petrino‘s Arkansas Razorbacks went into Death Valley last night with a chance to make a statement, and for awhile there, it looked like they might. The third-ranked Razorbacks were ahead of  #1 LSU 14-0… but were then outscored 41-3 the rest of the way, en route to a 41-17 defeat. And Petrino was pissed.
