It feels weird – a Friday morning with no NFL game from the previous night to discuss. Of course, given last Thursday’s game, maybe that’s a good thing. Still, Thursday night NFL became the new normal real quick. But we press on, buoyed by the presence of two marquee teams in last night’s NBA action… and the onset of bowl season. Since nothing good ever happens at 3 a.m. in Rancherito’s unless it involves guac dip and zesty apps, the shenanigans on Halloween night have resulted in some young lives being thrown pretty far off-track.

When a group of fans storms the field, the combination of revelry, close quarters, and (in many cases) drunkenness can lead to altercations that might not usually happen. One such encounter took place in Saturday… and we’re pretty sure the guy who started it wouldn’t do it again if he got the chance.

One of the major stories in college basketball last season involved the dismissal of forward Brandon Davies from BYU’s basketball team for violating the school’s honor code. The specific violation: premarital sex. The decision was controversial, but now, none of it matters: Davies is back on BYU.

Brigham Young’s football program had a ton of success in the Mountain West Conference in recent years, posting a 39-9 record against conference opposition under current coach Bronco Mendenhall. But now they’re not in the Mountain West anymore, and according to BYU, it’s so it can promote the Church that owns the school.

The celebration about the news that Osama Bin Laden is dead continued as a sign near the BYU campus reads, “Osama Got Jimmered!”
