We wrote about Miami Heat fans’ burgeoning love affair with relatively unheralded rookie point guard Norris Cole the other day. We at SportsGrid aren’t Heat fans ourselves, but we do have one in our midst. So we decided: why not have an actual Heat fan write about the excitement of Norris Cole? What follows is exactly that.

In a night where LeBron James and Dwyane Wade had post-worhty highlights of their own, it’s hard to ignore this posterization of Bobcats big man D.J. White by Chris Bosh, the third amigo in Miami.

Like most NBA teams, the Miami Heat have a little intro video for home games before they take the court. Unlike most NBA teams, that intro video features players standing in front of their neon-lit names with popped collars and scarves. So, yeah, it’s basically the most Miami Heat thing ever.

Other viewing obligations prevented us from our customary Thursday night TV schedule last night. Obviously, hard to complain about that when the alternative was an event like Game 6, but we did miss out on some Halloween-related sports tie-ins…most notably, courtesy of The Office.

Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony made appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit last night. And while you might be chomping at the bit to make fun of them (OK, fine, mostly Bosh), we’re here to tell you…the guys did all right.

Remember when ESPN’s Skip Bayless called Heat forward Chris Bosh “Bosh Spice” all of last year? Remember how he intimated that Bosh was effete, non-masculine, and soft? Remember how he called him a woman on TV for weeks and weeks, and inspired tons of people to say nasty things about Chris Bosh?

Well today on ESPN’s First Take, Chris Bosh finally got to sit across from Skip Bayless and tell him how he felt about all of that.

In TV Guide’s upcoming salary issue, we learn that NBC “Nightly News” host Brian Williams earns $13 million annually, ABC “World News” host Diane Sawyer earns $12 million, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper makes $11 million. It’s essentially wage porn, which is always an entertaining time.

The Peter North of this list is Matt Lauer, whose new salary with NBC earns him a whopping amount of money to interview birds and piss off Kanye West. He makes, as cultural critic and MSNBC contributor Touré noted, “[Derek] Jeter money.”

Actually, it’s more than Derek Jeter money.

Kevin Durant is not the lone entry in the category of “NBA players with a ton of tattoos in areas covered up by jerseys” – after witnessing this photo collection from Lost In The Willderness, you’ll see that Chris Bosh opted for a similar body art strategy. You get the idea with the photo above, but the whole gallery is worth checking out. Chris Bosh secretly got married this past April, but because he and his Heat teammates were too busy playing basketball and being scrutinized, he wasn’t able to celebrate it until this past weekend. And he did so, like a Bosh.

Despite the lockout’s general no-contact rule, the NBA is making a special exception for Chris Bosh’s wedding.
