Ho-hum, it’s just LeBron James and Dwyane Wade throwing down a monster alley-oop. You know, a typical Thursday night around these parts.

While you were recovering from your post-Jeremy Lin hangover this afternoon, the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat got together and played themselves a game of basketball. And, as one would imagine, it’s turning out to be one heck of a game.

A cool moment occurred after last night’s Wizards-Heat game, when LeBron James and Dwyane Wade went over to give some words of encouragement to youngster John Wall (the Heat crushed the beleaguered Wiz, 106-89). As LeBron talked to Wall, he covered his mouth. What was he saying? It had to be some version “I know your team sucks, but you have to keep pushing,” right? We already know Dwyane Wade is talented, but one of my favorite things about him is effort – he doesn’t give up. He’s one of the most aggressive players in the NBA at saving the ball from going out, superstar or not. In this play, he threw a bad alley-oop pass to rookie Norris Cole but made up for it, and in pretty spectacular fashion.

That young man behind Timberwolves’ coach Rick Adelman really did not like that call against the Wolves, but his outfit just might make him a star.
