Brian Wilson has had some time on his hands while he recovers from Tommy John surgery. His latest diversion? A web series with a giant Sasquatch. Video, after the jump.

On Bill Simmons’ most recent podcast, the Grantland editor-in-chief relayed three Gronk stories from last week’s ESPY awards in L.A. The first one Simmons witnessed himself. The second and third stories were told to him by friends. All three tales are fantastic, and all three are the Gronkiest goddamn things I’ve ever heard.

People tend to think the ESPYs are sort of lame. People also tend to think this about Tebowing. So maybe what you’ll see after the jump was only natural.

From last night’s ESPYs, a skit in which Blake Griffin and Kevin Love were patched in for a live satellite interview with host Rob Riggle.

There may have been something wrong with the feed, however, and neither love or Griffin knew they were on camera… so they started talking about the night before. And Rob Riggle’s loaded handgun.

We realize we’re a little late on this. But with apologies to Kevin Love and Blake Griffin, this was the best skit from Wednesday night’s ESPY awards.

Bill Hamption, Jr., a former executive with the Browns and NFL Properties, died after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday night. Hampton, the Browns’ former VP, was on his way to the airport after attending the ESPYs in LA. According to PFT, he was very well-liked in league circles, and recently worked for UnderArmour. He’s survived by his 13-year-old son, Jack.

The ESPYs are traditionally known as that time of year when very tall, athletic women who may or may not be used to wearing dresses have to not only wear dresses, but parade down a red carpet wearing heels.

It’s perhaps a testament then to the blurring line between sports and entertainment (thanks ESPN!) that this year’s crop of red carpet fashion choices was, by most accounts, not disastrous. We asked our friends at Styleite to tell us which outfits they loved, but we really wanted to know about the ones they hated.

Seth Meyers opened the ESPYs with a 13-minute monologue last night, and as with most monologues, it had some hits, as well as its fair share of misses. Of course, it contained nothing that would make the crowd terribly uncomfortable, but Meyers did get a few solid digs – if not all-out shots – in.

First up was the low-hanging fruit of Brian Wilson, but there were also a bunch of Miami Heat jokes (of course), and some Los Angeles Dodgers cracks (which we preferred). We did notice a lack of shots taken at the network airing the proceedings, though.

Why yes, that is eccentric San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson wearing a terrifying spandex tuxedo suit at the ESPY awards. Why do you ask?

Wilson, who closed out the All-Star Game last night, arrived to the ESPYs wearing clothes that looked like they were purchased from Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium.

Dirk Nowitzki: NBA Finals MVP. Party animal. Ladies man.

The pride of Würzburg showed up to the ESPYs red carpet tonight with his Swedish girlfriend Jessica Olsson. Although Mediatakeout reported on May 31st that Dirk had proposed to her right before the NBA Finals (which would’ve been a historically terrible move), that report was later refuted by Mavericks team representatives.
