The Texas Rangers were really, really close to winning the World Series. Couldn’t have been closer without doing it. Coming close, though, doesn’t mean you should go ahead and commemorate their victory that never happened. Especially not permanently, and on your body.

When the Oakland Raiders beat the Houston Texans 25-20 on Sunday, most of the discussion in the aftermath focused on the emotions of the Raiders, and the effort they put in just a day after the death of longtime, iconic (for better or worse) team owner Al Davis. But the Texans were out there trying to win a game too.

Yesterday, just one day after the death of longtime owner Al Davis, the Raiders beat the Texans 25-20. As one would expect, emotions ran high among the Raiders, and coach Hue Jackson was in tears. And when he addressed his team after the game, it was once again clear just how much his boss meant to him.
