Martin Brodeur Returns From Injury, Scores What Could Be The Weirdest Goal Ever (Video)

Because play doesn’t stop until the offending team touches the puck, the Carolina Hurricanes exchanged goaltender Dan Ellis for an extra attacker, assuming that the Devils couldn’t score without touching the puck. Very reasonable grounds for pulling the goalie, right? Because how can you score without touching the puck? It’s like a riddle. The answer and the video after the jump.

The 11 Most Controversial Sports Divorces Of All Time

Chad Johnson’s not the first athlete to find himself in an ugly divorce. And, because the world of pro sports produces big egos, big paychecks, and sometimes-messy off-the-field relationships, he certainly won’t be the last. Here are 11 of the most controversial sports splits of all time.

If You’re Marty Brodeur, Are You Creeped Out By This Chant?

Probably not. This is a seasoned pro we’re talking about — 21 years in the league. All of those 21 years have been with the Devils, so he’s dealt with his fair share of boorish Rangers fans (and has probably heard this chant many times over).

So the actual Martin Brodeur is probably mildly annoyed by this, at most. But if I’m out there on the ice, it’s a different story. Because this is haunting. More, after the jump.

Hockey on MSNBC Was the Right Call

Last night, after Team USA’s nailbiting victory over the heavily favored Canadians in men’s hockey, fellow Mediaite writer Anthony DeRosa called it “the greatest hockey game you never saw.” Yet I think he overstates his point. For a game “no one saw,” why were topics like “Ryan Miller,” “MSNBC” and “GO USA” trending?
