While Super Bowl Sunday serves a purpose — to crown a world champion in the NFL, of course — the week leading up to the big game has its own special design for those who are in the host city acting as members of the media. It’s a chance for those working folk to let their hair down and, naturally, get into a little trouble.

Tebowmania gave us the internet fad known as “Tebowing,” that practice of kneeling down in prayer (which Tim Tebow likes to do, in case you were unaware) against increasingly wacky backdrops. Because Tebow’s inspiring run ended in New England on Saturday night, the country will (thankfully) get a momentary reprieve from Tebowmania. And what better way to mark this reprieve than with a gallery of Playboy playmates Tebowing? America!

Keeping with their tradition of giving men words to read next to pictures of pretty ladies, Playboy magazine has made a list of the top 10 football programs of the last 54 years. At least we think so: we were distracted by the pretty lady.

Auburn University has many proud traditions. There’s the annual rivalry game with Alabama, played since 1893 and fondly referred to as “The Iron Bowl.” There’s Homecoming, when students and alumni gather together to crown a Homecoming queen and participate in events like the Omicron Delta Kappa Cake Race. There are the famous Toomer’s Corner pep rallies, in which students have been throwing toilet paper over two massive southern oak trees since the 1950′s.

Then there’s Playboy’s annual “Girls of the SEC” issue.

Once known as the voluptuous blonde who appeared in a provocative photo shoot in her alma mater UCF’s locker room, 26-year-old Playboy Playmate Shanna McLaughlin will now be known as the voluptuous blonde who did something really stupid at Orlando International.

The German women’s soccer team posed for Playboy, right before the Women’s World Cup. This would so cause a controversy in the US.

Nathan Horton scored the goal that sent the Boston Bruins to the Stanley Cup Finals. But he’s a winner for another reason.

Hey, remember when Mississippi State cheerleader Taylor Corley posed for Playboy, but it looked like she’d be allowed the remain on the squad? Well, you can forget that.

Next month’s issue of well-known gentleman’s magazine Playboy will feature Polish swimmer Luiza Hryniewicz, and the first photo from the issue has been released (hooray!).
