Super Bowl halftime show
It’s one thing for the NFL to be rotten. But now we see that any band that touches it also rots from the inside. What a shame.
You might have heard that there’s a petition going around in support of GWAR playing the 2015 Super Bowl halftime show (Bruno Mars got the nod this year). The petition now has the official support of the band itself, and an awesome press release announcing GWAR’s plans to field a team to play in the NFL has also been made available.
Someone Other Than Bon Jovi Or Bruce Springsteen Will Be Performing At The Super Bowl Halftime Show (And We Know Who It Is)
Beyonce performed at halftime last night. She reunited with Destiny’s Child, did “Single Ladies” with them and in general brought the house down with her every move. But suppose you missed it, and the raw energy emanating from the whole production. We could shame you… but instead we’ll give you gifs, because we love you. See ‘em after the jump.
If you didn’t think Destiny’s Child fans – and the rest of America, really – were freaking out enough over the group’s reunion at the Super Bowl halftime show, the three of them went and did a group performance of “Single Ladies.” See it after the jump.
The Super Bowl halftime show has come under fire in recent years for sporting less than stellar performers – it’s just difficult to best a boob slip. After Madonna headlined performers last year, the NFL has decided to slightly modernize its top dog by bringing in Beyonce to lead the halftime festivities.
Yesterday, during the Super Bowl halftime show, there were some questions as to whether singer MIA flipped the bird to the millions of people watching the big game. We’d say we were 90% sure that a bird was flipped, but because of lighting and distance from the camera, it’s possible she made some other kind of quick hand motion. Welp, now we’re 100%.
According to SBNation.com, Madonna is getting a slot at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show on February 5th in Indianapolis. The NFL hasn’t confirmed yet, but if Madonna is indeed going to perform at the Super Bowl, we’re a little on the fence about it.
Other than rare exceptions, Super Bowl halftime performances are offensively bad, so which Musician will try to save the day in 2012?
