Roger Federer Screamed “Shut Up!” At An Obvious Juan Martin Del Potro Fan Today

Normally, Roger Federer is as cool as the other side of the pillow. Unlike other tennis heavyweights (namely, Nadal and Djokovic) he keeps his emotions under wraps. That was not the case at Roland Garros during this quarterfinals match-up with Juan Martin del Potro. Someone managed to get under his skin, and we saw a side of the Swiss machine we’ve never seen before — the insides.

This looked like it was going to be the story of the tournament for the first two sets, as del Potro took the first set handily and won the tiebreaker in the second for a 2-0 lead. Going down two sets is very unlike Federer. Maybe the fan screaming “Out!” when Federer was hitting shots close to the baseline had something to do with it?

Needless to say, Roger was not pleased.

Come on, obvious del Potro fan. Your boy had Roger on the ropes — no need for any of your cheating ways. And soon after losing his temper (and the set), Federer went wild, only losing five games for the rest of the match to move on to the semi-finals. While we think it’s cool that Federer showed a little teeth and let this fan have it, clearly he does his best talking with the racket.
