In Which Rory McIlroy Is Asked To Do A Woman’s Job

The crowd at Madison Square Garden were all smiles tonight, and believe it or not it had nothing to do with Jeremy Lin. No, they were watching tennis (indoors?). Exhibition tennis, nonetheless. And before they knew it, the match between Maria Sharapova and Caroline Wozniacki turned from strange to bizarre.

Starting with Sharapova dancing with some old dude, the match continued got out of hand when Wozniacki brought her boo, top-ranked pro golfer Rory McIlroy, in from the stands to take her place on the court. McIlroy proceeded to make a few jokes, much to the delight of the crowd, before sending a weak serve Sharapova’s way. What do you want from the guy, he’s a golfer. Watch:

Yes, McIlroy technically won the point, but really it was in the same way that you let your girlfriend, or child, “win” a point. Hey, he can’t be the best at everything, right?
