We just got done telling you about the Houston Rockets’ classy and public goodbye to Yao Ming, and now it’s time to tell you about the dignified way in which a team said farewell to a player who spent the prime of his career with their organization.
We can’t imagine that it was easy for Matt Hasselbeck to leave the Seattle Seahawks, after he spent an entire decade in the Emerald City and even took the team to a Super Bowl in 2006, but after he chose to sign a 2-year contract with the Tennessee Titans, the Seahawks showed just how it tough the parting was for them by taking out a full page ad in a Seattle newspaper:
