Justin Blackmon Announces He Will Enter The NFL Draft – In Postgame Interview

Justin Blackmon did something tonight that underclassmen rarely, if ever, do – he announced in his postgame interview with ESPN’s Heather Cox that he will enter the NFL Draft next spring. Blackmon, a 6-1 215 lb wideout for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, amassed 252 receptions for 3564 yards and 40 TDs in his career. This season alone he pulled in 121 catches for 1522 yards and 18 TDs including an 8-186 3 TD line in the Fiesta Bowl, and was generally considered a cinch to enter the NFL Draft anyway, but the second question in his interview was the draft question and he answered it:
There’s a chance he will follow the opposing Fiesta Bowl QB, Andrew Luck, in next year’s NFL Draft as the second pick belongs to the St. Louis Rams, who desperately need help at the wide receiver spot. They also need help nearly everywhere else and the current consensus is that Matt Kalil, an OT from USC would be the pick there. Repeat me after me “every draft is a crapshoot and you never know what teams will do” so even if Blackmon isn’t the 2nd ranked player, he’s in the mix along with several others, and talent and production sometimes win over needs and 40 speeds.
