The Manic, Ice-y Final Moments Of Cowboys-Giants

Another week, another punch to the stomach for the Dallas Cowboys and their fans. After last week’s debacle in which head coach Jason Garrett iced his own kicker in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Cowboys this time fell victim to a blocked field goal after the New York Giants used their timeout to ice rookie kicker Dan Bailey just before he once again made a kick that did not count.

The Cowboys once again lined up for the second attempt, the one that actually counted, and the Giants’ Jason Pierre-Paul (and his giant, freakish octopus arms) broke through the Cowboys’ line and got a hand on the ball, sending it spinning well short of the goalposts. The Cowboys have had an eventful year (see the cheerleader ball giveaway and Jason Witten taking out a cheerleader and a team doctor) but to lose essentially the same way, two weeks in a row, may end up being what everyone remembers about the Boys’ 2011 season. Watch the entire mess:

And having Cris Collinsworth chuckling after the kick went through on the first try? Ouch.
