L.A. sports fans get a bit of a bad rap – they don’t live and die with their teams the ways fans in other cities do, they get there late, they leave early, etc. Based on the greeting the Kings received after arriving back in L.A. as Western Conference champions, though, it might be time to revisit that thinking.

Look, America: I know a lot of you hate the guy, but you can’t deny the crazy body control required to pull this off. And yeah, he’s a polarizing dude, but LeBron James is a human being who can do things that other human beings can’t. There will never be another like him, so do yourself a favor if you dislike him for his past actions: don’t allow that to keep you from enjoying the things he’s doing now. It doesn’t mean you have to run out waving an “I Love LBJ!” banner, it just means you’ll get to enjoy a type of athleticism that we may never see again.

Many athletes like to play golf in their spare time. Michael Jordan? Avid golfer. Tony Romo? Legitimately good golfer. But not all athletes golf religiously. And when those who don’t try to play, the result is hilarious.

The L.A. Kings completed their unexpected run to the Stanley Cup Finals last night with a 4-3 overtime win over the Coyotes, so the game’s result provided plenty of drama – but one event that occurred just before that last goal gave the evening a little extra juice

Last weekend, L.A.’s Staples Center was the sight of a “Sports-Ageddon” of sorts: six playoff games in 75 hours. The Kings, Clippers, and Lakers were all still alive at that point (only the Kings now remain), and Bill Simmons has a good piece on the madness over at Grantland, should you want a more detailed account. We don’t want to say “coolest person” because, to be fair, the quarterback is probably the coolest, not the guy who hikes the ball a long way. But this will definitely make you the coolest long snapper, no doubt. It will also make you a boatload of money, as you will probably go to the NFL if you can transfer these skills to the field. With Miami up 30+ points on Indiana in the 4th quarter, both coaches had already emptied their benches. Lance Stephenson, noted choke signaler, was on the court. So was seldom used Miami center Dexter Pittman, who decided to use his precious court time to send a message – that Lance Stephenson shouldn’t speak, literally. Video after the jump.

In the second quarter of Game 5, Tyler Hansbrough went a bit too Psycho T on Dwyane Wade in what seemed like a relatively honest, albeit unfortunate, shot block attempt. Udonis Haslem, in an attempt to defend his teammate, brutally struck Hansbrough a few possessions later. Psycho T was unhurt, but the purpose was clear. Both fouls, after the jump.

How cool is this kid? He was invited to a Reds game by a friend, and ended up catching two home run balls, one from Mike Leake and the other from Zack Cozart. Video of this blessed event after the jump.
