Renaldo Balkman Is Now Choking Teammates In The Philippines

You probably haven’t thought about Renaldo Balkman since he finished up his second stint with the New York Knicks this past year. These days he’s playing in the Philippines Basketball Association for the Petron Blaze Boosters, averaging 28.2 points and 12.8 rebounds in 39.7 minutes per game. Not too bad.

But Balkman is in the news for all the wrong reasons today, melting down at a no-call and dragging teammates into the melee. After scuffling with multiple referees, teammates tried to separate Balkman and calm him down. This only served to enrage him further, as he slapped away the hands of teammates and eventually shoved one. It was all a little weird and childish and had the announcers losing it a little, too. But then things turned violent as Balkman shoved teammate – yes, teammate – Arwind Santos, Santos shoved back, and Balkman wrapped his hands around his throat. Teammates eventually separated the two and Balkman will certainly be facing severe discipline for the league.

A little while ago, Balkman took to Twitter to apologize for the entire incident.
