The 5 Most Remote Sports Venues On Earth

  • Jake O'Donnell

Sports are one of the great unifying forces humans have. They’re also the best way to let your friends know you’re better than them by taking a what was supposed to be a fun little pick-up game and turning it into a war of attrition. Who doesn’t love dominating their loved ones in an intense game of H-O-R-S-E? Answer: literally no one. So it’s no wonder athletic proving grounds pop up in every corner of the planet. Driveways, backyards, 10,000 ft above sea-level, desert plateaus, icebergs, deep inside volcanoes — everybody everywhere is trying to get in on that hot competitive action no matter where they are or how inhospitable the conditions or how many recent Yeti sighting there have been in the area. So we’ve scoured the globe like a sportsy Indiana Jones to bring you the five most ridiculously remote sports “venues” in existence.

Happy Labor Day!
