Ricky Gervais Calls Spanish Bullfighting Teen A ‘Little C–t’ In Vicious Twitter Attack

Ricky Gervais has no chill. He's also almost always right.
Fresh off his fourth turn as Golden Globes host, where he ripped apart pretentious celebrities while guzzling beer, Gervais turned his attention to teen bullfighter Michael Lagravere Peniche. Also known as Michelito, who is known in Spain as the "Justin Bieber of bullfighting", Peniche has been bullfighting since the age of five, and was recently profiled in a magazine article.
Today on Twitter Gervais linked to the article, and added his own hot take:
There's some symbolism here. Michelito, who has said that killing animals doesn't bother him, now finds the tables turned. The teen is now the one with spears protruding from his hide, dying of blood loss, wondering how it all came to this. Skewered by Ricky Gervais on a Twitter account with 10.5 million followers has to be at least as painful.
Unlike the Golden Globes, which Gervais plays as a laugh and the ammunition is just harmless jokes, bullfighting is deadly serious business. Gervais is a committed animal advocate, and has been actively opposed to bullfighting for years. He did a series of PSA's in 2013 which helped get bullfighting banned in the Spanish region of Catalonia, and he continues to advocate against it.
Bullfighting is indeed a dying "sport", but unfortunately many more animals will be tortured to death before it's completely wiped out. As long as tourism subsidizes it (biggest offender -- the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain), it won't completely die.
So if you travel to Spain for the Running of the Bulls? Guess what? You're also a cunt. Sorry -- it's the truth. My hands are tied.
