Warriors Fan Fighting For Life After Fall From Upper Deck During Game 7 Brawl
On Monday we told you about a then-unidentified fan who plunged off of the upper deck of Oracle Arena on Sunday during an apparent fight at the end of Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Turns out that the man, a Warriors fan, fell 50 feat to the seats below, and is in critical condition in an Oakland hospital.
Salvador Bimbo is a Los Angeles resident who drove to Oakland for the game after his father gave him a ticket. According to police, Bimbo wasn't involved in the brawl between Cavaliers and Warriors fans in Section 120 of the upper deck, but was nearby, and was somehow shoved or fell over the railing to the seats below during the scuffle.
He suffered a fractured skull and broken ribs and is in critical condition.
NBC Bay Area:
It's still under investigation," Oakland police spokesman Marco Marquez said, adding that there a lot of unanswered questions. "We're still trying to determine whether or not this was the result of an altercation or if other means caused this man to fall."
Fans acting like idiots is nothing new at NBA games (see: Cavs fans telling Riley Curry to "kill your parents."). But to cause death or injury because you're too stupid and/or drunk to know that basketball is just a game, well, as far as being a human goes, just delete your account.
