After Getting Rocked Last Time, Brett Anderson is a Great Value
April 19 / Jake Ciely / RotoExperts
With the weekend here and cash flying, let’s just get into it...
Let’s deal ‘em up!
Brett Anderson, OAK – First off, the Rays are the second-worst hitting team in the league. Second, Anderson holds a .241 AVG against versus the current Rays roster. Third, his last start makes him a value price of $6,500 on FanDuel and $8,500 on DraftKings. Look at his first two starts, and you have an idea of what Anderson can do tonight (averaged over 6.0 IP, with one ER and eight Ks).
Pablo Sandoval, SF – I wasn’t a fan of Panda yesterday, but today, I’m changing course. Sandoval is 3-for-5 against Edison Volquez, and while that’s a small sample size, 3B is THIN and he costs just $3,700 FD and $4,200 DK.
Norichika Aoki, MLW – I was a big proponent of his in the preseason, and he’s rewarding me handsomely. Aoki current has a .298 AVG with four doubles, two HR and five RBI. Aoki is also 4-for-6 off Jeff Samardzija already, so get him in your lineup.
Carlos Beltran, STL – Beltran actually won’t cost much, especially on FD at $3,200 – just $4,900 DK – but given his success against Roy Halladay (and the fact that Halladay stinks right now), he should. Beltran has 10 RBI even with lesser production so far, and he’s 15-for-46 with three HR and 11 RBI against him.
Ike Davis, NYM – Yes, he’s been off to another slow start, but Davis still has a ton of power and is the only Mets player to have success against Strasburg. He is 3-for-8 with a HR. It’s about as risky as you can get, but with a cost of $2,900 FD and $4,200 DK, it’s hard to find a better value.
Other Good Deals – Ramon Hernandez (if he starts) $2,800 FD, Starlin Castro $3,400 FD, Evan Gattis $4,000 DK, Jean Segura $3,500 DK, Chris Young $3,600 DK
Kendrys Morales, SEA – The man is just 1-for-15 with eight Ks against Yu Darvish. Move along, nothing to see here.
Josh Willingham, MIN – What’s worse than Morales? Willingham against Jake Peavy. In 15 at-bats, Willy has zero hits. None!
Albert Pujols, LAA – With the costs associated with using Pujols, there is no reason to chase him given his 3-for-15 record against Anibal Sanchez.
Jimmy Rollins, PHI – There are some bad ones today! Rollins against Jaime Garcia, 1-for-14.
Shin-Soo Choo – One more just because it’s almost too fun pointing these out. Choo is 4-for-24 against mediocre Kevin Slowey – of all people – with 11 Ks. Go figure.
