Can Yu believe it? Okay, that was lame, but it was still amazing to see Yu Darvish go for a perfect game only three days into the season. Darvish came one out short... one. stinking. out. R.A. Dickey was solid, but not spectacular, in his return to the AL. Meanwhile, Joey Bats came up short in a matchup he should have (and has) dominated.
Matt Harvey, NYM – Harvey is a legitimate ace of the future for the Mets, and the future doesn’t look to be far away. Like Niese in the opener, Harvey faces a weak-hitting Padres lineup sans Chase Headley. At $6,100 on FanDuel, you can’t find much better value.
Paul Maholm, ATL – Maholm will never dominate, but he is a quality pitcher who does rather well against lefties. The Phillies lineup has plenty, which makes him a decent bargain gamble at $7,700 on DraftKings.
Dan Uggla, ATL (Freddie Freeman and B.J. Upton too) – Uggla strikes out a ton and never hits for a quality average. However, he does quite well against Roy Halladay with an 11-for-34 (.324) history and three HRs. Uggla is priced at $3,700 on FD and DK.
Pair of Rags
Roy Halladay, PHI – As mentioned, three of Atlanta’s hitter own Halladay, and his velocity has been down all spring. With his struggles and Braves success against him, there is no reason to pay the $10,500 price tag on DK or $8,300 tag on FD.
Alfonso Soriano, CHC – Soriano is near the top of the pack in price at $4,200 on DK, where FD has him at $3,400. FanDuel is paying attention to the matchup here, as Soriano is a miserable 5-for-41 with 12 Ks against Wandy Rodriguez. Don’t waste your money, even on FanDuel.
