Barry Bremen was just a regular guy. Sure, he was 6’5″ and pretty charismatic, but he wasn’t so exceptional that we should be talking about him on a sports blog two years after his death. Except he was. Barry managed to do what you’ve probably thought about from your seat in the nose bleeds at some point: Sneak into the game. Á la Catch Me If You Can, Bremen disguised himself in a uniform, casually strolled out onto the floor, and blended in with the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabar.
His story is interesting if you’ve ever snuck into somewhere you weren’t supposed to be, and definitely a testament how relatively normal-looking athletes used to look.
