Bill Simmons’ New Blog Will Be Called What?!?!
If Bill Simmons was trying to throw the rest of us off his scent as we search for signs indicating what his next blog will look like, he's trying REALLY hard. That's because according to a document his media group submitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Sports Guy's upcoming web-rebirth will be called [drumroll] "The Ringer."
Or it won't, because this trademark submission is a ringer.

Nice try, Bill, but you can't fool us. Might as well have submitted a trademark for the name "Red Herring" because we see right through your little bait-and-switch. Of course, if you're serious and the new Grantland will share its name with a Johnny Knoxville movie literally 200 people saw, we're cool with that. Just saying, there are probably better options.
Why don't you just stick to the Kevin Love trade think tank that is your podcast and stop dropping fake clues about your plans to build sports media's Starkiller Base over at HBO, k?
- Welp, looks like ol' sportsy boy Bill isn't as crafty as we thought, because "The Ringer" is real and now has a landing page, complete with an newsletter sign-up, links to corresponding social media accounts and a #cOoL Matrix-themed color scheme.
