Hey everybody, stop what you're doing -- Charles Barkley has some contradictory views on race he'd like to share with us.
"My grandmama told me," he told CNN's Brooke Baldwin. "Not all black people are right and not all white people are wrong. You gotta treat everyone as an individual."
He then said, "Police profile for a reason." Derp.
Wait, what happened to your grandmama's wisdom? You treat everyone on their own personal merits but police are "awesome" when they "judge a book by it's cover," so to speak?
Race in America is a complex issue and Barkley seems to oversimplify things with his "crooks" vs. the good guys narrative. That being said, he's putting race in the headlines, which is making people think critically about their own stances on things like racism, police brutality, victimization and exploitation -- which is probably a good thing.
