Dwight Howard Kicks Off All-Star Weekend With Tonight Show Appearance
Before Dwight Howard threw his "Larger Than Life" party last night, he had some business to attend to - namely, an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Howard seemed to enjoy himself well enough, and he and Leno talked about the usual things - but it was one slight mistake Howard kept making about the name of the show on which he was appearing that we especially enjoyed.
That mistake: Howard kept referring to the program as "The Jay Leno Show." Now, for Howard and all other normal people out there with actual things to worry about, "The Jay Leno Show" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" are interchangeable terms. But for those of us who paid too much attention to the whole Conan O'Brien-Leno "Tonight Show" flap a year ago and wound up tearing through this book on it, "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Jay Leno Show" were two distinct programs...the latter of which didn't go so well, to say the least.
And so while Howard kept talking about "The Jay Leno Show" and joked about how he wrote appearing on the show on his list of life goals, there had to be bitter memories from a year or so ago coursing through Leno's head, just a bit. And if you're one of the many who wasn't a fan of how the whole Conan/Jay situation played out, that might have been the most enjoyable part of this interview for you. Oh, and Howard talked about having a massive growth spurt, impersonated Charles Barkley and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and re-lived an old prank. Video below.
