Erin Andrews Is The 5,008th Most Interesting Person In The World
As many of you know, Dos Equis has retired the "Most Interesting Man In The World". What you may not know is that "The Most Interesting Man In The World" wasn't Mexican royalty. In fact he wasn't Mexican at all. Jonathan Goldsmith is an American Jew who attended Boston University and was a performer in the New York theater scene. Since becoming the "Most Interesting Man", Goldsmith has helped triple Dos Equis business. But the company feels a rebranding is in order.
"We're not walking away from the idea of the "Most Interesting Man"-- we're going to be reboot it in a way that's relevant for today's drinker so the brand doesn't get stale," said Andrew Katz, the VP of Marketing in a Fox News article from March.
Naturally the question has become who will replace Goldsmith. His last advertisement in the role is currently airing and throughout the summer, Dos Equis, will be airing ads featuring celebrities in the feature role. The company will unveil their new star in conjunction with their new sponsorship in the College Football Playoffs.
One of the "Most Interesting Person" replacements is Erin Andrews. The ad states that she is the world's 5,008th most interesting person, making it clear she will not be the permanent replacement. We learn in the ad that Andrews' "personality is so infectious, she is unable to enter hospitals." She deserves to at least be int he triple digits with a personality with that.
Andrews talks about how she can drink beer with the best of them. If this is true, we'd very much like to see a drinking competition between Andrews and Katie Nolan. Considering we've never seen Andrews chug a beer from any of her Emmy Awards, our money will be on Nolan.
Shanks: it's too bad you can't drink out of it.

Enjoy Andrews choosing Dos Equis.
