Fox 8 In Cleveland Runs Out Of Things To Say About Cavs, So They Hail David Griffin Executive Of The Year
The city of Cleveland is rightfully ecstatic over last night's incredible victory. After 50 years of suffering, they deserved a championship and it makes sense that it came down to winning in dramatic fashion. Because nothing can ever be easy.
This morning, Fox 8 in Cleveland were heaping praise on the Cavaliers as they rightfully should. They showed clips of interview with LeBron, Ty Lue, and J.R. Smith. But after almost ten hours of coverage, they were out of words. At that point they had probably already talked about how great Dahntay and James Jones are at towel waving. So just as they were about to sign off, they felt it was necessary to give credit to Cavs GM David Griffin. Perhaps they forgot, that LeBron was the actual GM of the Cavaliers. The anchors insisted that every move Griffin ever made was clearly right and that he deserved to be the Executive Of The Year. Because there is no way that Griffin would want to trade Kevin Love for Andrew Wiggins right about now.
The anchors went on and on about Griffin "formulating" these guys and just being the perfect general manager. They also discussed how distraught the city of Cleveland was after the Anderson Varejao for Channing Frye trade and how everyone questioned that move. From the local media to the national media, no one thought it made sense for the Cavs to get rid of offensively inept Anderson Varejao said these anchors.
We guess we can forgive the hyperbole. It was their first title since Lyndon B. Johnson was in office.
